NORDSTROM GIFT CARD
My role: UX writer
Make it easier for business customers to order gift cards for their team, and all customers to order egift cards directly from the site. Egift cards are a great way to reward and motivate employees, and are a growing revenue stream for large ecommerce sites.
What I learned
Never underestimate the complexity of a project. Initially the asks seemed like simple additions to an already existing Gift Card portal. Our vendor CashStar set clear limitations for the team to work within. The business reality was the gift card business impacted a lot of teams, from physical stores to finance. I was grateful to the skill and positive, get-it done attitude of our program manager Christy. She was stellar—and set an example for the partnership between program management and UX.
